Frequently Asked Questions

Why is our tree cutting season limited this year?

In the last couple of years, we have found that our field trees were getting cut at a faster pace, resulting in not getting enough years to grow much past normal heights.  This year we had to make the difficult decision to shorten our sales season and sell less field trees in order to provide additional height and quantity in future years.

That is why we are opening a little later and closing a little sooner than past years.  We appreciate your understanding so that the farm can supply you with more quantity and greater height in future years.

Fresh-Cut Trees

Why do we bring in fresh-cut trees?  Many of our guests come a long way to come to our farm.  We want to provide a selection of sizes that suit most of our guests.  The average tree in our field starts as a four year old transplant.  From the time of planting, it takes seven to ten years to get to cutting size.  Many of our trees are cut before they reach the size our guests want.  Thus, we bring in larger trees both as a convenience and to supplement our field selection.  These trees are cut from Michigan farms that use irrigation and similar growing practices to our own.  Of course, we guarantee these trees the same as any tree you would cut out of our field.

We encourage our farm guests to take as many photos as they would like while they are cutting their tree or visiting with Santa. We welcome professional photographers who would like to bring their own clients to the farm. However, you must pre-register and schedule with with Cathy at 248-628- 8899. Please call for further details. There is a fee of $25 per family that you bring to the farm. Sorry, but we cannot allow WEEKEND photo sessions on the farm after we open for the season.

What is your Pricing?

Pricing on our trees is roughly $12 per foot

Are Dogs Allowed?

You are welcome to bring your fur babies but we do ask that they remain on a leash during your visit and that if they use the bathroom while on the farm, you pick up after them.
