What is Included?

Please note, our field is closed for cutting as of Sunday, December 3rd, to allow

the trees to grow for the next Christmas season.

Once you arrive to our farm, we greet you warmly and provide you with a saw and cart. Our farm is choose and cut farm meaning that you are free to wander our 16 acres of fields to find the perfect tree, with sizes ranging to 11 ft. Our field trees include Fraser fir, Concolor fir and Korean fir. We do have some spruces, but we recommend those are not cut until December for best keepability. Trees available for cutting are marked with price tags in the field.  We trim our trees a bit different than other farms to create a looser tree, more suitable for displaying your precious ornaments. We also feature freshly cut Fraser and Concolor Fir, from 6-10 ft. from another Michigan farm for your convenience. You’ll find these to be trimmed in a more traditional manner that creates a denser tree. After you select and cut your tree and bring it to the service area, we will trim your bottom branches as necessary, shake your tree clean, wrap it and drill the trunk of your tree (if you have one of our pin stands). Shaking, wrapping, and drilling your tree are all included in the cost of your tree. String for tying your tree to your car is also provided. We evaluate each tree and price at approximately $15/foot, plus or minus, depending on grade and height. Wreaths, tree stands and other Christmas essentials are available for additional purchase.

Fresh-Cut Trees

Why do we bring in fresh-cut trees?  Many of our guests come a long way to come to our farm.  We want to provide a selection of sizes that suit most of our guests.   Thus, we bring in trees both as a convenience and to cater to all preferences.  These trees are cut from Michigan farms that use irrigation and similar growing practices to our own.  Of course, we guarantee these trees the same as any tree you would cut out of our field.

What is your Pricing?

Pricing on our trees is roughly $15 per foot, based on height and grading.

Here’s what you are paying for at our tree farm. We hand plant all of our trees, provide irrigation and fertilization, mow between the rows, hand weed within the rows, trim every tree every year that it is growing to give it that classic shape. We straighten the leaders where needed. One of the major jobs is the hand removal of all pine cones in May. This is required on fir trees, otherwise you would be left with unsightly black spikes on your tree when the bracts fall off the cones. Some trees produce over 500 cones, so our staff takes a ladder into the field to reach the tops of the taller trees when they can’t reach them on foot. From the time we plant a 4-yr old transplant, it takes an additional 7 to 10 years before the tree reaches saleable size. The above tasks are repeated every year.

Will Santa be Visiting? Hot Cocoa/Donuts?

Yes, we are excited to have Santa joining us again this year. He will be available on weekends to greet your family and capture photos. We also provide a template for your letters to Santa and we’ll make certain he receives them in time for Christmas. “The Little Donut Factory” food truck will be onsite to serve up hot beverages and fresh donuts. They are soooo good.

Are Dogs Allowed?

You are welcome to bring your fur babies but we do ask that they remain on a leash during your visit and kindly ask your consideration to clean up after them.

Photography

We encourage our farm guests to take as many photos as they would like while they are cutting their tree. We welcome professional photographers who would like to bring their own clients to the farm BEFORE we open for the season. However, you must pre-register and schedule with Cathy at 248-628- 8899. Please call for further details. There is a fee of $75 per hour for those scheduling mini sessions with their clients. Sorry, WE CAN’T ALLOW professional photo sessions on the farm after we open for the season on November 18th.
